TESOL Kurdistan Becomes an Associate Member of IATEFL

We are delighted to announce that TESOL Kurdistan has officially joined the International Association of Teachers of English as a Foreign Language (IATEFL) as an Associate Member.

IATEFL connects over 100 teaching associations worldwide, fostering collaboration, professional development, and an international network of support. Together, IATEFL and its Associates represent a global community of over 100,000 English language teaching professionals.

As an Associate Member, TESOL Kurdistan gains access to a wide range of opportunities, including:

Benefits for TESOL Kurdistan and Its Members as an IATEFL Associate Member:

· Receive the bi-monthly Associates eBulletin with updates and events from other teaching associations.

· Publicize TESOL Kurdistan’s main annual event on the IATEFL website and in IATEFL Voices.

· A chance to apply for grants through IATEFL Projects and participate in the Wider Membership Scheme (WMS) for discounted group memberships.

· Members from TESOL Kurdistan can apply for Individual Memberships (which will come at a discounted rate using a discount code provided by IATEFL) to gain access to resources, pre-recorded events, and the IATEFL Voices magazine.

TESOL International Association welcomes Kurdistan Association of TESOL Educators (KATE) to its network of affiliates serving the English language teaching (ELT) profession. New affiliates will be recognized at the upcoming TESOL 2025 International Convention & Expo, 18-21 March, in Long Beach, California, USA.

KATE, founded in 2023, serves ELT educators in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and supports professional development, research, and collaboration in advancing expertise and serving learners and communities. 

TESOL is affiliated with 118 independent associations worldwide representing over 50,000 professionals.
